About Zoe Flores:
Zoe Flores is an artist with a passion for vibrant art in all forms. They mostly work with acrylic paints and
digital canvas, painting the world from a fresh point of view.
After graduating from Central High School in 2018 (with no idea what to do next!) Zoe quickly went to
work fulfilling art commissions for friends and strangers alike. Zoe first stepped into the public eye in
2020, with their debut public piece Pink Floyd, the gorilla statue in front of TLC Home Health.
Zoe’s artwork can be seen all over San Angelo, including the peacock mural behind Firestone, several
murals in Paintbrush Alley, the new downtown library sheep “Frida Read” and a brand new mural next
to the train depot. Their personal favorite (and most recent work) is located inside of Circuit Breaker
Arcade Bar, in Downtown San Angelo. Zoe also facilitates weekly preschool art classes and summer art
camps at Emmanuel School of Fine Arts.
Although there are too many to list, Zoe’s creative inspirations include the vivid writings of Shel
Silverstein, Shigeru Miyamoto’s video game series The Legend of Zelda, the 1984 cartoon Rainbow Brite,
and favorite musicians Dan Avidan, Billy Joel, and the band Neck Deep.
Zoe continues their artistic adventures not just for themselves, but to honor and remember their best
friend, Kyle Ybarra, who took his own life in 2018. Zoe spends every day of their life trying to make the
world a kinder place for people who feel like they’re alone, and uses bright colors in their artwork to
express this. Every day, San Angelo grows a little bit more colorful, and they are thankful to be a part of
the process.
Outside of professional work, Zoe enjoys singing in local choirs, competing at cosplay conventions with
hand-made costumes of their favorite video game characters, and spending time with Rexx: a Poodle
with a mohawk.
